3 Practices To Set Successful Monthly Goals
Monthly goals are so important to set if you want a successful year. I would go as far to argue that monthly goals are more important than yearly goals! It’s so important that we break our goals down in a time frame that we are able to achieve. When our goal’s deadlines are close we feel more urgent to complete them. It’s a great feeling to know you are making the steps to live the life you’ve always wanted. This starts with creating achievable goals. In this post I will give you 3 practices to set successful monthly goals.
Think of your Yearly Resolutions
The reason why it’s hard for some people to achieve their yearly goals is because they don’t give themselves deadlines. Deadlines are important. We tend to feel like we have all the time in the world to get something done, so as a result we constantly put it off. Think of the kind of things you want to accomplish. What are your resolutions for this year? This is going to be important because you need to have a big picture goal. The point of monthly resolutions is to fit them together in a way that leads up to accomplishing your yearly goals. What can you do every month that will bring you closer to your yearly resolution? Think of your monthly goals as steps to your final destination.
Break down the goals to fit into your schedule
Once you make a list of the goals that you want to achieve it’s time to break them down. Make sure your schedule is already filled with your fixed tasks, for example, school and work. Go ahead and put in tasks that you need to achieve every week to work towards your monthly goal. Let’s say for example you want to lose 10 lbs this month. Making a detailed workout schedule for each week and a healthy meal plan will help you achieve this. Another example is that you want to save $5,000 by the end of this year. You would have to save at least $417 every month. Think of how much money you will put away every week to achieve this goal.
It’s important to change things up & Its okay to take a break
When you strictly follow these rules you will notice that the schedule can be quite redundant. It’s important to change things up so you can keep everything interesting. Something that will help you in this journey will be to create a vision board that you can look at everyday. Remind yourself that you are doing this for a reason. It’s also totally fine to take a break for yourself. Life will get in the way, some days you will be tired. As long as you are able to hold yourself accountable to achieve your goals by the end of the month, a break is okay! Your wellbeing should always come first.
